Lake Nakuru, world famous for its massive flocks of Lesser and Greater Flamingo was created as a National Park to protect its bird and animal life.

It is a prime spot for ornithologists, scientists and safari–goers with its abundant wildlife living from the waters edge, to the woodland, bush grassland and rocky escarpment.

Within the lake hippo and the diverse birdlife are fun to watch, while waterbuck, Bohors Reedbuck and zebra roam on the shores of the lake. The woodlands and forest are very popular for Black and White Rhino, big herds of buffalo, Rothschild’s Giraffe, leopard and lion. A few families of Black and White Colobus Monkeys thrive in the forest areas. The bush lands offer warthog, Mountain Reedbuck, eland, impala, dik dik and bushbuck while if one looks carefully on the cliffs rock hyrax and klipspringer can be spotted.
